Specialized Groups in IER Laboratory
There are six specialized groups of laboratories in IER. These laboratories has been equipped with up-to-date modern equipments and appartuses with the help of the SDC project between Vietnam - Switzerland (IER - EPFL), and investment from Vietnamese Government. These laboratories and equipments are used for education, training, research and technology transfer operations carried out by our IER staff. The 6 specialized groups of laboratories are:

• Water Quality Group to carry out quantitative analysis of physico - chemicals parameters in water and waste water samples.
• Air pollution and Noise Control Group is responsible for sampling and determining flow & quanlity of air pollutants in fluent gas streams or in the ambiant atmosphere.
• Microbiology and Ecotoxicology Group is in expanding stage and is responsible for application of microbiology technology in environmental protection studies as well as for ecological toxicology research
• Micropollutant Analysis Group was equipped with the most up-to-date analytical instrument and apparatures in determining microelements including pesticides and dioxin traces in the environment
• Soil Quality Group is still in the set-up process which is aimed to studies in soil pollution. It is also involved in research of solid waste colletion and treatment.
• Pilot Study Yard comprises of physical models of wastewater treatment processes and serves also as visual tools for classes in Environmental Technology.
