IER laboratories are equipped with up-to-date instrumentation and appartuses, the most recently with the help of the SDC project between Vietnam - Switzerland (IER - EPFL), and investment from Vietnamese Government. The purpose of these labortories and equipments is for education, training and research in environment.
There are six groups of Laboratories in IER:

1. Water Quality Laboratory to carry out quantitative analysis of physico - chemicals parameters in water and waste water samples.
2. Air pollution and Noise Laboratory. to determine the quantity and quality of air pollutants in gas streams or in the ambiant atmosphere).

3. Micropollutants Analysis Laboratory equipped with up-to-date sophisticated equipment including AAS, GC, HPLC, GC/MS to analyze trace elements, heavy metals, pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons-PAHS, polychlorinated biphenyl compounds-PCB,...in water, air and sediment samples.

4. Microbiology and Ecotoxicology Laboratory is resposible for investigation and research in environmental microbiology and ecological toxicology.

5.Soil Quality for determining soil physical, chemical and biological parameters.

6. Pilot Study Yard for Environmental Technology.

In addition, IER has classrooms, meetingrooms, and computer room equipped with necessary facilities (overhead, projector, slide projector, multimedia projector...) for training, international and national seminars and workshops.
The library of IER has specialized books, textbooks, jounals and magazines in Environmenttal Technology and Management, to support the Center's programs.
