POST-GRADUATE EDUCATION
IER is assigned by Ministry of Education and Training decision No. 382/QD-BGD&DT-SDH on March 4th, 1998, to conduct programs leading to master degree in Environmental Technology and PhD degree in Water Supply and Drainage, Water and Wastewater Engineering.
So far, IER has launched 15 batchs of master degree in Environmental Engineering (205 MS graduated) and 21PhD candicates enrollment (4 PhD graduated).

Starting in 2004 the Institute is responsible for 2 more Master programs and 4 more PhD programs. The three Master programs are:

1. Environmental Technology
2. Environmental Management
3. Conservation of Environment and Natural Resources

The five programs leading to PhD Degree are:

1. Environmental Technology for Solid Wastes
2. Water Technology and Wastewater
3. Conservation of Environment and Natural Resources
4. Environmental Toxicology
5. Water Supply and Urban Drainage

SHORT-COURSE TRAINING
IER often organizes short-course on Environmental Engineering and Management for different organizations. The content of these cou矵ses depends on organization's demands, including:

• Computer application in Environmental Engineering;
• Analysis on water quality, air quality...;
• Rural water supply;
• Domestic and industrial wastewater treatment;
• Environmental management;
• Operation of water supply plant, etc...
